Pawleys Island Real Estate

Located on the very southern tip of The Grand Strand, Pawleys Island is one of the oldest resort areas on the East Coast. Despite its long history as a popular vacation spot, the area has maintained its peaceful, casual charm and laid-back atmosphere.

Only 70 miles from Charleston, Pawleys Island is known for its historic district which includes several homes dating from the 1700s to mid-1800s. The Hammock Shops, located in Pawleys Island, features unique retail shops and restaurants, all under the canopy of giant oak trees covered in Spanish moss.

Pawleys Island is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the Waccamaw River to the west and the Winyah Bay Estuary to the south. The area’s saltmarshes are popular spots for fishing, crabbing, paddleboarding and kayaking.

Pawleys Island features fantastic restaurants, hospitals, schools, and historic churches. It is close to True Blue Golf Club and the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club. Just down the road is Huntington Beach State Park and Atalaya Castle – the winter home of Archer Huntington and his wife Anna from 1931 to 1933, since donated to the state and now open to the public.
