North Myrtle Beach Real Estate

North Myrtle Beach feels like an old-fashioned beach town with plenty of new attractions and modern conveniences. Encompassing the towns of Cherry Grove, Crescent Beach, Ocean Drive Beach, & Windy Hill Beach, this area is all about beach living.

The Carolina shag, a style of dancing popular across the country, was invented in Cherry Grove in the 1940s and many North Myrtle Beach clubs still regularly hold shag dancing lessons and competitions. In fact, the shag is the official state dance of South Carolina.

North Myrtle Beach holds several wildly popular festivals throughout the year, including the Irish Italian International Festival.

Barefoot Landing, one of the area’s premiere entertainment, shopping and restaurant destinations, is located along the Intracoastal Waterway in North Myrtle Beach. Duplin Winery, one of the oldest and largest wineries in the south, serves sweet Muscadine wine at its new facility near Barefoot.

North Myrtle Beach also features several of the area’s top golf courses, such as the Tidewater Golf Club, and the Dye and Love courses in the Barefoot Resort area.

North Myrtle Beach is a great place to buy a home or condo, a second home, or to retire in. It is close to several hospitals, including the Grand Strand Medical Center. Elementary schools include Ocean Drive, Riverside and Waterway. North Myrtle Beach Middle School and North Myrtle Beach High School serve older students. The area also has many charter and private schools.
